HIKING Uncoupling Membrane is an essential underlayment for ceramic tile and stone tile installation. It uncouples the tile layer from the substrate, helping prevent stress, movement, cracks, and fractures from reaching the finished tile surface.

Installation Workflow
Simple installation for professional flooring projects
The membrane is designed for efficient installation on clean, prepared substrates. Apply thin-set mortar, embed the mat fleece-side down, cover seams with fabric bandage, and seal wall corners and joints as part of the waterproofing system.
01 Apply thin-set mortar to substrate by V-notched trowel
02 Install the mat on the mortar. Fleece side down.
03 Smooth out and embed the mat tightly into mortar
04 Apply thin-set mortar on the joint seams
05 Install the fabric bandage covering membrane seams
06 Seal wall corners and joints with thin-set mortar
07 Apply thin-set mortar over the membrane and install tiles
